Low Vision
With eye disease and some eye conditions, there is a limit to what we are able to do with traditional medical treatment, glasses and contact lenses. Low Vision is the utilization of devices and techniques to maximize the retained vision. We are not able to restore lost vision. However, we can often improve mobility, reading, or enjoyment of your hobbies, and improve the quality of life.
At Auburn Eye Care Associates, we are not satisfied in telling patients “there is nothing more we can offer.” Low vision treatment gives us and our patients more options to improve the quality of vision and life.
Whether it is driving, computer, TV, reading, or your hobby of choice, we can investigate how we can improve your vision.
Common conditions that low vision treatment can help would be vision loss due to advanced glaucoma, macular degeneration, visual fields defects from strokes, glare or contrast sensitivity, difficulty reading, or general visual impairment. |
